Who I Am

Hi, I’m Emily (she/her), a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in Los Angeles, CA.

What I Do

I believe that the most important factor of therapy is building a safe, trusting relationship full of empathy, honesty, and authenticity. I employ a client-centered lens to make my clients feel empowered as they embark on their therapeutic journeys. My approach helps clients increase awareness of their behavioral patterns, make progress towards goals, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. I am HAES-aligned and aim to be inclusive, culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming in my practice. My primary goal is to create a warm, gently challenging, and empowering space for my clients to feel validated and supported.

More About Me

I received my MA in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. However, in my undergraduate and postgraduate time at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of California, San Diego, I gained extensive education and experience in the medical field, giving me a unique perspective on understanding and helping individuals with eating disorders.

In my free time I love reading and writing, hiking around LA, traveling to new cities, and trying new sports and hobbies (skiing being the current activity of choice!).

How I Help

My practice consists of evidence-based practices, such as CBT, which integrates behavior change and addressing negative core beliefs and dysfunctional thoughts. I also incorporate aspects of psychodynamic and narrative therapy, DBT, and ACT to personalize my approach with each client. I am dedicated to helping my clients find the glimmers in their lives as we work together through the difficulties that can arise from eating disorders and other disorders including anxiety and depression.
